Mural at Red Barn Ranch in Auburn, site of the Tilth Alliance beginning farmer incubator program. ROAR sources from these farmers for our weekly farm stands. Meet them in person at our Friday market in Kent on August 25!
Make the most of the summer bounty and savor those last few weeks before school starts! We have workshop offerings in High Point on Wednesday, so come through Health Families Day at Neighborhood House from 5-7 to learn about the miracle of soil from Maren and her traveling worm bin! We will also have a workshop on-site at the farm stand about reducing sugar consumption in your summer snacks, with give-aways and recipes to equip you to make your own fruit-based popsicles at home!
Saturday we’ll be celebrating at the (FREE!) Duwamish River Festival in Georgetown with the Duwamish River Cleanup Coalition — these folks are working hard to revive the river that supports our ecosystem here in Seattle, so come through to show them some love! Sunday is the Nature Consoritum’s Arts in Nature Festival, a crazy amazing party with live music and tons of interactive art exhibits. Get your fix on the smoothie bike both days. Can’t wait to see you!
If you’re one of our south county friends, the monthly market with Living Well Kent at Morrill Meadows Park is also happening this week — 3-7pm on Friday, 8/25.
